You can’t pick up a newspaper or read an online publication without coming across a new sleep article – whether that’s the latest medical research or a general survey– and here at The Sleep Council we’ve been banging on about the subject of sleep for many years.
So with that in mind, we have decided to launch a brand new month-long awareness campaign – Sleeptember – to highlight the healthy benefits of a good night’s sleep.
Sleep really is the answer to feeling and looking your best. People go to huge amounts of time and expense to eat well and exercise regularly but without a good night’s sleep all that effort will be in vain. And the foundation of a good sleep is a comfortable, supportive bed, regularly replaced, ideally every seven years. Lack of sleep makes you grumpy, disorientated, more vulnerable to illness and does nothing for your appearance!
We’re piggy backing on the trend for months dedicated to a good cause – think Movember, which has been a huge success in raising the awareness of men’s health – and felt it was appropriate to rename September, Sleeptember – let’s face it who doesn’t like the thought of a whole month dedicated to sleep!
It all kicks off from September 1, so look out for us on Facebook and Twitter. Not only will we be informing you of why it’s good to sleep but we’ll be sharing some fun facts as well as offering some giveaways – thanks to a helping hand from This Works, which offers an award winning natural beauty range and Tune Hotels.
