It will be sun, sea and sleep for local couple, Tim Wickens and his partner, Janet Walker, who have won a dream holiday to Mauritius, thanks to The Sleep Council.
Tim was the lucky winner of a national competition, run as an insert in the October issue of Good Housekeeping by The Sleep Council, as part of its campaign to promote the importance of regular bed replacement to a good night’s sleep. The prize, supplied by Hays Travel, is a 10 night, all-inclusive holiday for two at the 5 Star Maritim Hotel in Mauritius – located right on the famous Turtle bay – worth £5,000.
“We were absolutely delighted to have won,” says Tim, who lives in Maltby and works as a marshal and pushback driver at Doncaster airport. “I love entering competitions but the last big thing I won was a car in 1982 worth £4,000!
“We actually replaced our own bed last year and it was the best thing we ever did! Having read The Sleep Council’s leaflet, we now know that a bed should be replaced around every seven years.”
Said Lisa Artis of The Sleep Council: “Tim already has a new bed and is seeing the benefits of that, which is great. Another thing that makes you feel better is a luxury holiday so well done to Tim for being our lucky winner. We hope he has a great time!”
